Original Animal Colored Pencil Painting on Toned Paper - Custom Made to Order

This listing is for one original colored pencil piece custom painted from a photo provided by the client. This is for a single animal painting. Additional animals may be extra depending upon the composition and detail required. The example above, is a boxer named Gia. Gia was painted on Strathmore ArtAgain toned paper. The second example, the raccoon, is a mixed media piece with a watercolor under painting and colored pencil detailing layer. (There is no margin on this piece.) Please convo me with questions. Larger commissions with be posted for the individual client and can be split as two transactions.
Small paintings may be painted on either Strathmore ArtAgain, MiTientes, artist grade Watercolor Paper or a Pastel surface. I use only artist quality materials. The dimensions shown are for the cut size of the paper. Available painting sizes are: 6" x 8", 8" x 10", and 9" x 12". Choose your size in the drop-down menu. The painting may have a margin around the painting to allow for framing. You will receive the painting unmatted and unframed.
The finished piece will be sealed with a medium-specific fixative. However, colored pencil paintings need to be framed behind glass (preferably with a mat) and displayed away from sunlight to prevent fading. The customer is advised to have the finished piece matted and framed.
Shipping:
I will ship USPS. I prefer Priority Mail. If possible, I may use a shipping tube (which is safer) but then the painting will be rolled. However, stiffer surfaces will not allow that, and in which case, the painting will be sent as securely as possible.
How it works:
I ask that anyone interested in a custom painting, send me a convo with your goals and a high resolution digital photo of the animal. You should hold the intellectual property rights to the photo. You are granting me the right to use it as a source for the artwork. All commission work must be paid for in advance. I will do a 50%/50% split for larger pieces - half before work begins and half upon completion. If I need to order the surface for your painting, you will be invoiced for deposit before I purchase the supplies. You will be sent a digital copy (with watermarks) to proof. If you do not approve the artwork, I will do what I can to meet your expectations. Since I do work full time and have a family, it may take 2-3 weeks (or more for larger pieces) for custom work to be completed. Once it is, any remaining balance must be paid before shipping. Commissions are not returnable/not refundable.
Quality Guarantee:
I use only artist grade supplies and surfaces. All paper will be artist grade and archival. I will send you a proof to approve the painting before you make the final payment.
Copyright:
Please note that I reserve the right to display copies of my work done on commission as part of my portfolio and listings. I retain copyright of the "artwork." You will receive an original work of art. I will not post any photos of any commission work on social media until after it has shipped to the client. If you prefer to keep all images private, you must convo me in advance. My work is not for the client's commercial use.
